On 8 May 2009, the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire submitted to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf, in accordance with Article 76, paragraph 8, of the 51³Ô¹Ï Convention on the Law of the Sea, information on the limits of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured.

It is noted that the Convention entered into force for Côte d'Ivoire on 16 November 1994.

In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Commission, a communication was being circulated to all Member States of the 51³Ô¹Ï, as well as States Parties to the Convention, in order to make public the executive summary of the submission, including all charts and coordinates contained in that summary.

The consideration of the submission made by Côte d'Ivoire was included in the provisional agenda of the twenty-fourth session of the Commission held in New York from 10 August to 11 September 2009.

Upon completion of the consideration of the submission, the Commission will make recommendations pursuant to Article 76 of the Convention.

Summary of the Recommendations (2020)

Pursuant to section V. paragraph 11 (3) of Annex III to the, Rules of Procedure of the Commission, the Summary of the Recommendations is hereby made public.

Amended Information

On 24 March 2016, the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire transmitted to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf, through the Secretary-General, amended information on the outer limits of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured. The amended information replaces, in its entirety, the information sumitted on 8 May 2009.

In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Commission, as well as the decision of the Commission taken at its sixteenth session (CLCS/48, paragraphs 18 and 19), a communication is being circulated to all Member States of the 51³Ô¹Ï and parties to the Convention, in order to make public the executive summary of the amended information, including all charts and coordinates contained therein.
