However, social scientists have not translated the excessive use of the commons into the analysis of our reproductive behaviour. In his lecture, the presenter shall first develop an account of the feedback and then point to a class of externalities that arise from the social-embeddedness of our preferences for both consumption and reproduction. The latter externalities have a different character to the ones experienced in the commons and can be weakened by civic engagement, they do not require centralized tools such as taxes and subsidies.</p> </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-tags field-type-taxonomy-term-reference field-label-inline clearfix"><div class="field-label">tags:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><a href="/development/desa/pd/tags/education">Education</a></div></div></div> Tue, 12 May 2020 15:07:00 +0000 MSTOCKTO 3303 at /development/desa/pd Commission on Population and Development, thirty-sixth session (2003) /development/desa/pd/events/CPD36 <div class="field field-name-field-date field-type-date field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><span class="date-display-range"><span class="date-display-start">Monday, 31 March 2003 - 10:00am</span> to <span class="date-display-end">Friday, 04 April 2003 - 6:00pm</span></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><h3>Population, education and development</h3> <h5>Bureau members</h5> <ul> <li>Mr. Gediminas Šerkšnys (Lithuania) - Eastern-European Group (Chair)</li> <li>Mr. Iftekhar Chowdhury (Bangladesh) - Asia-Pacific Group (Vice-Chair)</li> <li>Mr. Crispin Grey-Johnson (Gambia) - African Group&nbsp;Vice-Chair)</li> <li>Mr. Marc Bichler (Luxembourg) - Western European and Others Group (WEOG)&nbsp;Vice-Chair)</li> <li>Mr. Alfredo Chuquihuara (Peru) - Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC)&nbsp;Vice-Chair)</li> </ul> <table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" style="width: 90%;"> <tbody> <tr> <td> <h5><a href="http://documents-dds-ny.un.org/doc/UNDOC/GEN/N03/359/74/PDF/N0335974.pdf?OpenElement">Report of the Commission on its&nbsp;thirty-sixth session</a></h5> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-tags field-type-taxonomy-term-reference field-label-inline clearfix"><div class="field-label">tags:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><a href="/development/desa/pd/tags/2003">2003</a></div><div class="field-item odd"><a href="/development/desa/pd/tags/cpd">CPD</a></div><div class="field-item even"><a href="/development/desa/pd/tags/education">Education</a></div><div class="field-item odd"><a href="/development/desa/pd/tags/development">Development</a></div><div class="field-item even"><a href="/development/desa/pd/tags/population">Population</a></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-featured-categories field-type-taxonomy-term-reference field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Categories:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><a href="/development/desa/pd/categories/commission-population-and-development">Commission on Population and Development</a></div></div></div> Tue, 22 Jan 2019 20:57:00 +0000 MSTOCKTO 631 at /development/desa/pd
