Reflections on the Day of Holocaust Remembrance

In memory of the victims of the Holocaust, the 51³Ô¹Ï annually observes the International Holocaust Remembrance day. During this year's commemoration week, the 51³Ô¹Ï Department of Public Information organized special exhibitions, film screenings, NGO briefing and the Holocaust Memorial Ceremony to bring awareness and remind the world of the threat posed to us all when genocide and crimes against humanity are allowed to occur.

WoW - With or Without Empowering women through employment

has one wish: that German employers don't focus on the applicant's religion or clothing, but rather concentrate on the applicant's professional training and abilities. Elagbar, a Syrian refugee who arrived in Germany not too long ago, is one of the many women that attended 's Job Ready Program, a six-month seminar and workshop series that prepares women with Muslim migration background for the German job market. She is also one of the many women that after completing a full unit of the Job Ready Program ventured onto language and integration courses.

On Thursday, 1 December 2016, I was a volunteer at the 3rd Annual J. Michael Adams Lecture and Conversation Series. This was particularly a rewarding experience since I was involved in planning the event, creating and sending invitations and writing introductory speeches, and loved seeing the event come into fruition.
