Ms. Martina Donlon
Information Officer, Strategic DPIStrategic Communications Division, UN DPI

Ms. Martina Donlon currently works as Information Officer for Human Rights in the Department of Public Information at UN Headquarters in New York, where she also manages the Outreach Programme on the Rwanda genocide, coordinates Nelson Mandela International Day, and serves as focal point for indigenous peoples and the International Decade for People of African Descent. In 2014-15, she spent a year as Chief of Communications and Change Management at the UN Regional Service Centre in Entebbe, Uganda. Before joining the UN, she worked as an Assistant Director at the Council on Foreign Relations, Special Assistant to the Swiss Ambassador to the UN, Deputy Cultural Attach¨¦ of Switzerland in New York, and as an editor at the Wall Street Journal online. She graduated from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University) in Boston and the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva.

 

Ms. Hui Lu 
Chief, Intergovernmental Affairs, Outreach and Programme Support Section, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights

Ms. Hui Lu joined the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in 2001, has worked on various mandates including indigenous and minority rights, human rights and development, country situations both in Geneva and New York as well as on intergovernmental affairs in particular the Human Rights Council in Geneva. She has also worked at the Secretariat of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in DESA focusing on implementation of the Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and served as deputy chief of Human Rights Component in the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti.

 

Mr. Renzo Pomi 
Representative of Amnesty International to the 51³Ô¹Ï Department of Public Information

Mr. Renzo Pomi is a human rights lawyer with over 30 years' experience in the field. He is currently Amnesty International Representative at the 51³Ô¹Ï covering areas of human rights and humanitarian law in armed conflict and post conflict settings, international justice and accountability, among others. He has also been responsible for Amnesty International institutional work at the Organization of American States, in particular the strengthening of the Inter-American Human Rights System. Prior to his work with Amnesty International, Renzo served in two UN peace operations and as the Deputy-Secretary of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jose, Costa Rica. He has also ex-perience working for the truth commission in Guatemala, as well as a diplomat with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, his native country. Renzo has a law degree from the University of the Republic in Montevideo, and a LL.M from Harvard Law School. He is also currently teaching Human Rights Advocacy and Research at New York University.
