About this event
Celebrate a milestone of 1,000 Independent Dialogues with us! Over the course of 18 months, and during an unprecedented pandemic, hundreds of thousands of people have come together in nearly every country in the world to debate, collaborate, and take action towards a better future through the UN Food Systems Summit (UNFSS) Independent Dialogues. As we near a milestone moment of 1,000 Independent Dialogues, we¡¯d like to invite you to join us in a discussion to reflect on what¡¯s been accomplished and a consideration of what¡¯s next.
The UNFSS has engaged people around the world in an ambitious effort to accelerate action to transform food systems to realise the vision of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In the context of the Decade of Action, the UNFSS has been a catalytic moment for global public mobilisation and motivating actionable commitments by various stakeholders. The Dialogues have a critical role in this process, and the feedback collected provide important and thoughtful guidance about how food systems transformation should be undertaken, and solutions implemented.
During the event, you¡¯ll have a chance to hear from key players in the Dialogues Programme including;
- Dr. Agnes Kalibata, UN Secretary-General¡¯s Special Envoy for the 2021 Food Systems Summit
- Dr. Michael Quinn Patton, Founder of Blue Marble Evaluation and team lead for synthesis of the Independent Dialogues
- Dr. David Nabarro, Strategic Director of 4SD and Food Systems Summit Dialogues Special Advisor
The event will also feature a panel of Independent Dialogue Convenors speaking to their experiences with the Dialogues Programme and will close with an interactive Q&A session for all participants to engage in.
