Ms. Arielle KITIO TSAMO
Arielle KITIO TSAMO, the 2020 winner of the global competition on quality education organized by ONE YOUNG WORLD and Deloitte, received the Margaret Prize for African Digital Woman in 2019. The same year, the Cameroonian government presented her with the National Award of Excellence for Youth which rewards the best young technology entrepreneur. In 2016, the State Department of the United States awarded her the TechWomen Award. Listed twice (2022 and 2018) in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Ranking, the Former Ambassador of the Next Einstein Forum in Cameroon has the following results to her credit: nearly 29,000 children supported and trained in creativity, technological innovation, coding, robotics, artificial intelligence, and the use of ICT for lifelong learning. The educational tools developed by her organization (like abcCode an inclusive coding environment to initiate African kids to programing and robotics in their native languages) have been certified by the Union Africa in its Handbook Education 2018 and by UNESCO in ICT.
Since 2020, she coordinates the Connect My School, a national initiative for the Ministry of Basic Education and UNICEF Cameroon to ameliorate the quality of teaching and learning at the primary level with ICT. She is the founder of TechWomen Factory, an initiative that aims to facilitate access to competencies (through a 09-month training program), funds and to decent jobs in key ICT areas like including data science, web, and mobile application development, digital art. In 2022, This program has benefited 179 women coming from the 10 regions of Cameroon and was selected as finalist at the World Bank Youth Summit in May 2022 in Washington DC. Beyond her training as a soware engineer, Arielle has developed experience in setting up and managing gender-transformative projects, especially in the digital sector, edtech, and in technical and pedagogical engineering. Inclusion and equity are the key words that drive its initiatives; creativity, problem-solving orientation, and empathy are her main qualities.
