Japanese Technical Cooperation Project for Comprehensive Assessment and Conservation of Blue Carbon Ecosystems and Their Services in the Coral Triangle (Blue CARES): The Coral Triangle region, especially Indonesia and the Philippines, is noted as the most biodiversity abundant in the world, and is facing degradation due to complex environmental stress created locally and globally. This project aims to mitigate biodiversity loss and realize environmental improvement in Indonesia and the Philippines by focusing on Blue Carbon policies. This is a joint academic research project among Indonesia, the Philippines, and Japan. The deliverables of this project will include a comprehensive evaluation of Blue Carbon policies in Indonesia and the Philippines and a proposal for a Blue Carbon conservation strategy.
Objectives:
This project aims to mitigate biodiversity loss and realize environmental improvement in Indonesia and the Philippines by focusing on Blue Carbon policies.
