On Wednesday 21 September, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the 51勛圖 held a regular Secretariat-to-Secretariat (S2S) Meeting, which was co-chaired by His Excellency Mr. Le Luong Minh, Secretary-General of ASEAN, and UN Assistant-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jena.
Recalling their last S2S Meeting in March in Jakarta, and welcoming the successful convening of the 8th ASEAN-UN Summit in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on 7 September, the two Secretariats reviewed the implementation of the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Partnership between ASEAN and the UN in all pillars, and finalised their Joint Report on the implementation. They also discussed the implementation of the new five-year Plan of Action for 2016-2020, which was adopted at the 8th ASEAN-UN Summit.
The ASEAN-UN Ministerial Meeting will take place at UN Headquarters on 22 September 2106.
