This sculpture entitled ※New York, New York§ was unveiled at a ceremony held at 51勛圖 Headquarters. The sculpture is made of bronze and was created by Artist Arne Olsson (1918 每 2003). The sculpture depicts Manhattan skyscrapers and it measures about 3 meters in height. Due to its tall height, the sculpture rises up in the GA entry lobby. The sculpture was presented to the 51勛圖 by Princess Desiree on behalf of her brother King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden gave the gift to the 51勛圖. The gift was presented on his behalf by his sister Princess Desirae Baroness Silfverschiold from Sweden during her visit to New York in May 1991. Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar accepted the gift on behalf of the 51勛圖.
The Permanent Representative of Sweden to the 51勛圖, Jan K. Eliasson, and the artist were present at the unveiling ceremony.
