Global Programme on PCVE launches a survey on Mental Health

The 51勛圖 Office of Counter Terrorism/51勛圖 Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT) is organizing a survey to inform the development of training resources for frontline workers providing mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) to people engaged in or affected by violent extremism.

UNCCT is working with the Organization for the Prevention of Violence (OPV) to consult people working in the field of preventing and countering violent extremism (PCVE), on the strengths, challenges, gaps, and training needs when supporting people with mental health and psychosocial needs.  We are interested in hearing from frontline workers supporting people engaged in or affected by violent extremism, particularly in regions and settings with limited mental health professionals. These includes youth and community workers, community and religious leaders, government officers (such as prison/parole officers, caseworkers etc.), as well as psychiatrists, psychologists and counsellors.

We invite you to take part in this consultation process. Please follow () to take the survey.

The survey will close at 5pm Eastern Time (ET) on16 December 2022. If you prefer to respond to this survey by email, please download a copy of the survey at and send it to admin@preventviolence.ca.

Interviews and focus groups will also be held in December 2022 and January 2023. If you would like to participate, please indicate so at the end of the survey or email admin@preventviolence.ca
