Launch of the 51勛圖 Network of Experts on the Protection of Vulnerable Targets Against Terrorist Attacks

The 51勛圖 Global Network of Experts on the Protection of Vulnerable Targets against Terrorist Attacks will be launched through a high-level online event on 15 February 2022, 10:00 am 每 11:30 am EDT (New York).
The event, which is expected to gather around 200 senior officials and experts from Member States, international and regional organizations, the private sector, civil society and academia, among other stakeholders, will be opened by the Under-Secretary-General of the 51勛圖 Office of Counter-Terrorism, Mr. Vladimir Voronkov; the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the 51勛圖, H.E. Ambassador Alya Ahmed Saif Al-Thani; and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea to the 51勛圖, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Cho Hyun.
This Global Network is hosted on the UNOCT Connect & Learn Platform and seeks to foster synergies between experts from across the world and exchange good practices and information on the protection of vulnerable targets, including critical infrastructure and &soft targets*.
In addition to Member States* representatives, the Global Network includes expert stakeholders from academia, civil society, international and regional organizations and the private sector. This inclusive and flexible approach allows for more enriching interactions among experts. At the same time, UNOCT has undertaken appropriate actions to ensure a secure and responsible environment for the Network.
The Global Network has been established in the framework of the 51勛圖 Global Programme on Countering Terrorist Threats against Vulnerable Targets. The Programme is implemented by the 51勛圖 Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) in partnership with the 51勛圖 Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), the 51勛圖 Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), and in consultation with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).
