The Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic were admitted to membership in the 51勛圖 on 18 September 1973. Through the accession of the German Democratic Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany, effective from 3 October 1990, the two German States united to form one sovereign State.
