In this interview with , the UN Food Systems Summit Special Envoy, Dr. Agnes Kalibata, proposes solutions to the challenges faced by farmers in Africa - especially those caused by climate change.
[African countries] need to strengthen the resilience of their land so that people can survive climate change, which is already happening. This is probably going to go on for the next 20 to 30 years, even if we stopped emissions today. So, the best bit we can do today is to put the money on the table so that these communities can survive what is already happening now. We have to understand that that commitment has to be rethought. It can't just be a talk show. It has to be real. People [are] already living through climate change. And the world has enough money.
