Who can participate?

 

The 3rd 51³Ô¹Ï Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries is a conference for all member states of the 51³Ô¹Ï: landlocked developing countries, their transit country neighbours, development partner nations and all others.

The following may also participate in the Conference:

  • Members of the specialized agencies
  • Intergovernmental organizations
  • International financial institutions and other international bodies
  • Associate members of the regional commissions
  • Specialized agencies and related organizations
  • Organisations and bodies of the 51³Ô¹Ï
  • Non-governmental organizations and civil society organizations
  • Academic institutions and the scientific community
  • The private sector
  • Philanthropic organizations
  • Youth
  • Media

How can you be accredited and registered?

Do you represent a State? Or maybe you are an NGO or a private company? Or maybe you are a young influencer from civil society who wants to participate in the Conference? Choose your profile and we will guide you through the process.

Bear in mind that, depending on your profile, you might need to obtain accreditation first (getting the approval of eligibility) and secondly, register for the event. Deadlines will vary as well per profiles.

Situation 1: Civil society, NGO, private sector, academia, or other relevant organizations and individuals

  1. Organizations that are in Consultative Status with the ECOSOC DO NOT need to apply for Special Accreditation to the LLDC3 Conference, but they should REGISTER to participate in the Conference and its preparatory process.
  2. There will be a specific link for representatives of organizations with ECOSOC Consultative Status registration when the registration period begins around 1 October 2024

 

Situation 2: Civil society, NGO, private sector, academia, or other relevant organizations and individuals that already received special accreditation while attending one of the conferences included in this list

  1. Organizations that received Special Accreditation to the following conferences and meetings DO NOT need to apply for Special Accreditation to the LLDC3 Conference, but they should REGISTER to participate in the Conference and its preparatory process.

Situation 3: Rest of Civil society, NGO, private sector, academia, or other relevant organizations and individuals (your organization are neither in nor was your organization accredited through participation in a previous UN Conference from the list)

Application for Third Round of Special Accreditation to LLDC3 is open!

The deadline for submitting application is 9 August 2024.

  • Your organization must apply for AND be approved for accreditation before individuals representing your organization are eligible to register for the conference.

Civil Society Organizations, Private Sector Entities, Academic Institutions, and other relevant organizations that are not in consultative status with the ECOSOC and did not receive special accreditation for the following conferences had to apply for an Special Accreditation to be considered for participation in the conference and its preparatory process.
  2. Once organizations are approved for special accreditation, representatives of those organizations will be eligible to register.
