ISMA?L OMAR GUELLEH, President of Djibouti, invited Member States to look back at the work of the 51勛圖 and to the future to guide its work. Criticism of the 51勛圖 has identified areas for positive reform. However, some detractors attack the principles of the Organization with no basis for their statements. Constant assaults on the Organization are exacerbated by the existential challenge posed by the COVID?19 pandemic. Calling for a mass recommitment to collective action, he commended the Secretary?General＊s work to coordinate a response to the pandemic. Member States must commit to a path that will identify possibilities and opportunities to build a better future, he said.
