DJACOBA LIVA TEHINDRAZANARIVELO, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Madagascar, said that new global threats, including the pandemic, have called multilateralism into question. However, there remains unfinished work at the 51勛圖, including challenges relating to social and economic inequality that the world must confront. Underscoring the inalienable right of peoples to self-determination, he said that the process of decolonization remains incomplete. That is the case for Madagascar with regards to the Glorioso Islands and the islands of Juan de Nova, Europa and Bassas da India. He went on to urge Member States to rally around the values of justice, solidarity and mutual respect and to reject unilateralism and the law of the strong.
