Description
In 2022, halfway through the 2030 Agenda's implementation period, the world is experiencing several global crises and conflicts impacting food, energy, and financing. Both domestic resource mobilization and international development finance are under pressure. Participating countries must create evidence-based policies using the latest science and data to develop cost-effective strategies for sustainable development, growth, macroeconomic stability, and inclusion. However, many policymakers in developing countries, including those facing special circumstances and some middle-income countries, lack the necessary data and capacity to design effective responses to events like the COVID-19 pandemic and to develop long-term development strategies.

This project aims to strengthen the capacity of Government agencies to utilize data and analytical techniques better to inform decisions. This project is directly related to the General Assembly resolutions on Smooth transition strategy for countries graduating from the list of least developed countries ( and ), the Istanbul Programme of Action for the LDCs for the Decade 2011-2020, and the Doha Programme of Action for the LDCs for the Decade 2022-2031.
