ECOSOC FfD Forum Round Tables
The general segment of the 2016 ECOSOC Forum of Financing for Development follow-up featured six interactive Round Tables, held from Tuesday, 19 April to Wednesday, 20 April. The themes of the Round Tables covered all seven action areas of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA), clustered into four themes, and other important components of the AAAA, including Chapter I on cross-cutting issues and Chapter III on data, monitoring and follow-up.
The objective of the Round Tables was to: (1) take stock of commitments and actions contained in the AAAA and the related means of implementation (MoIs) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); (2) review early actions taken towards implementation of the relevant provisions, as well as voluntary initiatives put forward at the Third International Conference on Financing for Development; (3) identify obstacles and bottlenecks that impede policy action; and (4) discuss the monitoring and assessment framework, building on the report of the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) on Financing for Development.
Modalities for the Round Tables are described in detail in Section H of the information note on arrangements for the ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development follow-up.
