Support for LDC graduation

When countries reach a certain level of development, they leave ("graduate from") the LDC category.  The graduation process takes several years, which enables countries to prepare for a "smooth transition". Several 51勛圖 entities and other partners support countries through this process with analysis and capacity-building.  This page contains information on issues relevant for countries approaching graduation or recently graduated. It incorporates content previously on the "Gradjet" website, as well as information on the Sustainable Graduation Support Facility (iGrad).

What's next in graduation?

  • Mid-2024: ECOSOC resolution on the Report of the Committee for Development Policy (for a country to graduate, ECOSOC must endorse the CDP's recommendation, and the General Assembly must take action).
  • S?o Tom谷 and Pr赤ncipe is scheduled to graduate on 13 December 2024.
