Sub-theme 3: Education and Learning in Crisis-affected Areas
Join us for an event, delivered and driven by young Africans, focused on analyzing the urgent education challenges in crisis-affected areas of Africa and providing actionable recommendations. In 2024, escalating conflicts, displacement, disasters, and health emergencies have created unprecedented humanitarian needs, severely impacting the education and well-being of children and youth. With 123 million school-aged children affected by crises and 46 million out of school, the disruption of education systems is particularly devastating for marginalized groups, including girls and displaced children. Despite the critical need, education remains underfunded in humanitarian aid. This event, led by young African voices, will delve into these pressing issues and offer strategic recommendations to prioritize and invest in resilient education systems that support learning and well-being from the onset of crises. Ensure the right to quality education for all children and youth, even in emergencies.
