A Youth Voices Twitter Spaces Event
This Twitter Spaces event will hear the perspectives of a small group of distinguished youth speakers and also solicit views of African youth regarding the role of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in enhancing nutrition and food security outcomes on the continent. The conversation event will be the third in a series of 2022 youth events related to food security and nutrition in Africa, following the Africa Regional Breakout Session of the ECOSOC Youth Forum in April and the Africa Dialogue Series Youth Conversations in May.
Speakers will include Ms. Seynabou Dieng, social entrepreneur and founder of ; Mr. Loay Radwan, environmental engineer and co-founder of ; and Ms. Funmilayo Olawale, founder of JR Cakes and chief operating officer of . The event will be moderated by Ms. Millicent Kgeledi, Communications Officer at the (AUDA-NEPAD).
The overall objective is to provide an opportunity to African youth to share their insights on the potential of STI in strengthening nutrition and food security outcomes in Africa. It is expected that the youth moderator and speakers will contribute valuable perspectives on how STI can strengthen efforts relating to the African Union theme for 2022, "Strengthening Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the African Continent: Strengthening Agro-Food Systems, Health and Social Protection Systems for the Acceleration of Human, Social and Economic Capital Development"
This event has been organized by the UN Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD).
