About UNIS
The 51³Ô¹Ï Information Service (UNIS) in Nairobi is part of a network of UN Information Centres spanning the globe, which are part of the Department of Global Communications (DGC).
The UNIS communicates timely, accurate and relevant information on UN objectives and activities to diverse audiences, helping to advance the Organization¡¯s substantive aims.
The UNIS (formerly UN Information Centre) in Nairobi was established in 1974 and provides services to Kenya, Uganda, and the Seychelles.
We collaborate and engage with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), government, civil society groups, media, youth, and institutions of higher learning in various outreach activities to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focused on people and their prosperity on a healthy planet.
Through our campaigns and solutions-oriented storytelling, we highlight actions by institutions and individuals to address some of the world¡¯s pressing challenges.
Our Visitors Service offers virtual and in-person guided tours through the 51³Ô¹Ï Office at Nairobi campus.
We invite schools, universities, NGOs, and the global public inside the UN complex to learn more about the UN's history, and essential work in the service of people around the world.
