Frequently Asked Questions
 

Do I need to be affiliated with an NGO to be able to register for the Conference?

No, any member of Civil Society may apply to register for the Conference. Priority will be given to Civil Society Organizations formally associated with the Department of Global Communications (DGC) and those in consultative status with ECOSOC. To register, visit https://reg.unog.ch/event/29010/

Students and other youth groups are strongly encouraged to participate.

Please note that DGC reserves the right to reject any registration application.


Do you have a limit on individuals per CSO?

Yes. Each CSO is allowed to register a maximum of 20 representatives for the Conference. CSOs associated with DGC and ECOSOC and Utah-based CSOs may register up to 40 participants. Academic institutions may register up to 100 participants.


Can I register several people with one account?

No. Each participant is required to create and use their own account on INDICO to register.


I am having difficulties navigating INDICO ¨C what should I do?

Please direct all questions and troubleshooting requests regarding the INDICO platform to the INDICO support team at support.accreditation@unog.ch


Is there any fee to register or attend the Conference?

Registration for and attendance to the 68th UN Civil Society Conference is free of charge.

Please note that arrangements for travel and accommodations, as well as all local and travel expenses incurred by participants, are solely their responsibility or that of the sponsoring organizations.


When is the deadline for registration?

Registration is open now and the UN Department of Global Communications will vet all registrations as they are received. If you are approved, you will receive a letter of registration. Registration will remain open until we have reached capacity for the event, but not later than 1 August 2019. 


How and when will I get my Confirmation letter?

The confirmation of registration will be sent via email. Please allow up to two weeks from the time you submit your registration for the Conference to receive your confirmation letter. 

I am travelling to the US from a different country. Do you provide any visa support?

Please be aware that the 51³Ô¹Ï Department of Global Communications is unable to assist individuals with obtaining visas or communication with the US Embassies and Consulates for visa issuance purposes.


I have a valid grounds pass for UNHQ in New York. Do I still have to register?

Yes. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that all interested in attending the conference register for the event.  A UN grounds pass will not allow access to the conference venue in Salt Lake City.  Please note that each approved participant will be required to present, upon arrival at the registration area, a government-issued photo ID or national passport, issued by a Member State of the 51³Ô¹Ï.

NOTE: Participants with special needs ¨C mobility or other ¨C are requested to inform the Planning Committee of the Conference (at undgccso@un.org) as early as possible so that their requirements can be adequately taken into consideration.

The 51³Ô¹Ï does not charge fees for participation in the 68th 51³Ô¹Ï Civil Society Conference.
