What We Do
Our work focuses on three main areas
- identify core development challenges and recommend appropriate tech solutions that can make a meaningful impact. In low-income countries, these assessments are critical for fast-tracking urgent development using science, technology and innovation. In the long term, they assist countries to develop the technological and innovative capabilities to achieve growth, promote structural transformation and reach the Sustainable Development Goals.
- enable countries to access target technologies and know-how through partnerships facilitated by the UN Technology Bank, including with the private sector.
- such as knowledge sharing and skills training strengthens a country’s ability to adopt and scale up technologies for sustainable development.
Our support is focused on four sectors:
- Agriculture and food systems
- Environment, climate change and resilience
- Health
- Education and digital skills development
Our work guided by our vision: A world where science, technology and innovation can quickly close development gaps, ensuring people from the poorest and most vulnerable countries are not left behind.
