The 51³Ô¹Ï Dag Hammarskj?ld Library provides research and information services to support the participation of Member States in the 51³Ô¹Ï as its first priority.


Main Services

The Library services include:

  • Personal, professional research support to the UN community with priority services for Member State missions staff and delegations.

  • Regular training sessions in information research, as well as customized training and individual coaching sessions.

  • A comprehensive collection of UN documents and publications since 1945.

  • Access to thousands of electronic journals, newspapers, and books covering a wide range of topics with an international scope.

1) Where is the Library located?

The Dag Hammarskj?ld Library building is located at 42nd Street and 1st Ave. The main reading room and Library Help Desk are located in Room L-105.

Doors are open Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

2) Can you help me with my research about UN documents?  

Yes, our Reference Team can assist you with your questions about the UN, its documentation, and any other queries. Email us at  library-ny@un.org, check  for frequently asked questions. Or chat with us directly using the chat widget on this page.

3) Does the Library provide training? 

 

 

Yes, the Library offers live online training on UN documentation for New York-based delegates and staff. Customized trainings can be arranged for Permanent Missions, or for individuals. 

  • New training sessions are regularly announced in the UN Daily Journal. Online registration is available in the Training Calendar.

  • All our training materials, including recorded webinars in English, French and Spanish, are available from the  guide.

4) Does the Library provide access to electronic journals, online news, and e-books?
