Work of the General Assembly on violence against womenWork of the General Assembly since 2000 Since 2000, the General Assembly has adopted numerous resolutions and requested the preparation of reports on various forms of violence against women. In 2006, following the launch of the Secretary-General’s in-depth study on all forms of violence against women, the General Assembly adopted resolution 61/143 on the intensification of efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women. The Secretary-General’s report focused in 2007 on efforts undertaken by the 51³Ô¹Ï system and in 2008 on efforts undertaken by Member States.
