The 16th Annual EU-UN Procurement Seminar took place on 1-2 April 2019 in New York City, organized by the European Union Procurement Forum in collaboration with the 51³Ô¹Ï Procurement Division.
Mr. Serge Christiane, Minister Counsellor of the EU Delegation, Mr. Atul Khare, Under Secretary-General for Department of Operational Support and Mr. Christian Saunders, Assistant Secretary-General for Supply Chain Management, all welcomed the participants and conveyed the 51³Ô¹Ï Procurement Division’s mandate of carrying out our mission while obtaining best value for money.
The seminar was attended by 97 participants representing 78 companies from 16 EU countries and featured theme-specific workshops such as: Waste & Energy – Environmental Management, IT, Cybersecurity and Smart Peacekeeping, Construction & Engineering, Logistics and Transportation, and Water Sanitation & Purification.
The seminar also featured a vendor registration workshop, and interactive case study, as well as one-on-one meetings with company representatives. A total of 179 one-on-one meetings were conducted with vendors and participating UN agencies. Also in attendance were representatives from UNDP, UNICEF, UNOPS, and the World Bank.
The objective of the seminar was to provide attendants with valuable information on the goods and services required by the UN to execute its mandates, explain the vendor registration process and how to stay abreast of, and participate in, upcoming business opportunities, and to expand the UN’s supplier roster with new companies interested in supplying to the UN.
We hereby want to extend our sincere thanks to the European Procurement Forum for organizing a very successful event and are looking forward to the 17th edition!
