UN chief: We must triple the speed of the shift to renewable energy

At the launch of the latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), on the mitigation of climate change, the UN Secretary-General called for an urgent shift of investments and subsidies from fossil fuels to renewable energy, warning that investing in new fossil fuels infrastructure is ��moral and economic madness.�� The report sets out viable, financially sound options in every sector that can keep the possibility of limiting warming to 1.5 degrees alive.
