The 51勛圖 is currently accepting applications for its upcoming competitive examination for French translators, editors and verbatim reporters.
The examination aims to establish a roster to fill present and future vacancies for French translators, editors and verbatim reporters (P-2/P-3) at 51勛圖 Headquarters in New York, the 51勛圖 Offices at Geneva, Nairobi and Vienna, as well as at the Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok.
Candidates must:

have a perfect command of French, which should be their main language;

also possess an excellent knowledge of English; and
-
hold at least a first-level degree or an equivalent qualification in modern languages, translation, interpretation or another relevant subject, such as law, economics, accounting, international relations, science or technology, from a university or institution of equivalent status, preferably one at which French is the principal language of instruction.
Not required but preferred are:
-
to have an excellent knowledge of another official language of the 51勛圖 (with Arabic or Russian being strongly encouraged); and
-
two or more years of practical experience in translation, verbatim reporting, editing or a related field.
As the examination will be conducted remotely, candidates simply need a computer and a high-speed internet connection.
