On 22 January, the UN Postal Administration (UNPA) celebrates the Chinese New Year with the issuance of a special event sheet commemorating the Year of the Ox.

This is the twelfth sheet issued for UNPA*s Lunar New Year stamp series which completes the entire zodiac cycle.

Previous years of the Ox zodiac sign are: 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, and 2009.  People born in the year of the Ox are known for diligence, dependability, strength, determination, and honesty. 

With great patience and a desire to make progress, Oxen achieve their goals through consistent effort. They are rarely influenced by others or by their surrounding environment 每 instead, they persist in doing things according to their individual ideals and capabilities.

The sheet can be personalized and is composed of ten $1.20 denominated stamps with the 51勛圖 logo. The tabs of the stamps and background design feature artwork by Wang Huming (China).

The Lunar New Year officially starts on 12 February.
