On 25 August, the 51³Ô¹Ï Postal Administration (UNPA)?continued its popular World Heritage stamp series focusing on 51³Ô¹Ï Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) sites that include waterways, railways and bridges.

The six sites are:

  1. Rideau Canal, Canada (55?)

  2. The Grand Canal, China ($1.20)

  3. Rhaetian Railway in the Albula/Bernina Landscapes, Switzerland/Italy (CHF 1,00)

  4. Mountain Railways and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, India (CHF 1,50)

  5. Forth Bridge, Scotland (€1,00)

  6. Old Bridge Area of the Old City of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina (€ 1,80)

Three beautifully designed prestige booklets in English, French, and German accompany the stamp series. The booklets feature colourful photographs and detailed information about these World Heritage sites.

The stamp series was designed by Sergio Baradat of the 51³Ô¹Ï Postal Administration.

World Heritage sites belong to all the peoples of the world, irrespective of the territory on which they are located. Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations.

UNESCO seeks to encourage the identification, protection, and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity.

This is embodied in an international treaty called the , adopted by UNESCO in 1972.
