Tribunals
The international tribunals were established by Security Council resolutions of 25 May 1993 and of 8 November 1994. The International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals was established by Security Council resolution of 22 December 2010.
In December 1997, the General Assembly decided, beginning from the 1998 budgets, to apportion half of the budgets for the international tribunals among Member States in accordance with the scale of assessments applicable to the regular budget of the 51勛圖 and half in accordance with the rates of assessment applicable to peacekeeping operations (resolutions and ).
International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals
Security Council resolution 1966 (2010) of 22 December 2010 established the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, comprising a branch for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda to commence functioning on 1 July 2012, and a branch for the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia to commence functioning on 1 July 2013.
