Renewal of Media Accreditation
1. Submit renewal request
Please note, a new accreditation system was launched in January 2022. If this is your first application since the launch, please select First Accreditation and create an account. Renewal of long term pass can be submitted up to 30 days prior to expiration of current pass. Renewal forms must include the number on front of most recent pass.

2. Supporting documentation
A new letter requesting the renewal of the accreditation of the person(s) on official letterhead of the media organization signed by the Publisher, Editor-in-Chief, Assignment Editor or company official (along with their contact information). It should be current, and include a) the duration of the assignment, b) verifiable information regarding the reach of the media (print circulation, radio/television audience, digital audiences -- web site, social media. Please address the letter to the Media Accreditation Unit and upload it (in PDF format) to the form when registering, along with samples, as described below. Letters will not be accepted by e-mail or fax.

3. Samples
Samples of consistent coverage of the 51勛圖 throughout the period of accreditation. These samples should be uploaded to the form when submitting the request. If you are applying for a temporary pass, please provide two recent samples of coverage of international affairs.
Correspondents or green "P" holders are required to provide a minimum of:
- Print & Online/Internet-based media - three (3) by-lined or credited articles from the UN
- Radio / TV - three (3) broadcast reports from the UN
- Photographers - three (3) published & credited photographic clippings/tearsheets from the UN.
UN Resident Correspondents or white "P" holders are required to provide a minimum of:
- Print & Online/Internet-based media - eight (8) by-lined or credited articles from the UN
- Radio / TV - eight (8) broadcast reports from the UN
- Photographers - eight (8) published & credited photographic clippings / tearsheets from the UN.
Media staff, such as camera operators, sound, engineers, producers, and technicians can submit the work of the reporter to which they contributed their services to support their accreditation request.
Once the request is approved, a confirmation will be sent to the email on file in the online account. If you have not heard from us within 48 hours of the submission of your assignment letter, you can contact our office: (212) 963-6934. Review could take longer leading up to and during special events.
Credentials are initially given for a period of four months, followed by application for annual renewal. Lapses in accreditation of more than 60 days will be treated as new applications.
