Types of Accreditation
Temporary
This accreditation status is for visiting journalists who cover a specific event or press conference, accompany a visiting delegation, or those who need temporary access to media facilities.
Correspondents (long-term)
Correspondent accreditation status is for journalists requiring frequent access to the 51勛圖. Pass holders are designated with a green "P§ (for press) on their badge. This accreditation is only granted to journalists residing in the tri-state area or Washington, D.C.
Resident Correspondents (long-term)
Resident correspondent accreditation status is assigned to a limited number of journalists whose organization holds an office/desk space at the 51勛圖 Headquarters in New York City. These journalists are required to cover the 51勛圖 and use the office space an average of 2 to 3 times a week. Pass holders are designated with a white "P§ (for press) on their badge. This accreditation is only granted to journalists residing in the tri-state area.
Organizations interested in office / desk space may contact our office. Please note that space is extremely limited and that there is a waiting list.
Emeritus
Former resident correspondents who served for 10 or more years at 51勛圖 Headquarters in New York City and had an office under a recognized media organisation may maintain a pass under an "Emeritus" status designation for a maximum of 3 years and are ineligible to any office / desk space.
Interns
Interns who are active students will need to provide a letter from their university supporting the internship. Non-US nationals will need to provide a letter or an I-20 form listing the internship. Non-US nationals who are not active students will need to provide a work authorization document or work visa tied to the media organization.
