Committee on World Food Security (CFS 48)
The 48th Plenary of CFS will take place virtually on Friday, 4 June 2021, and will feature ten side events organized by its partners. Eight of these side events will be held on Thursday 3 June with the other two scheduled for Friday 4 June. Food for All: Food conflicts and the future of food systems
The Secretariat of State of the Holy See, the Permanent Mission of the Holy See to FAO, IFAD & WFP, the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and the Vatican COVID-19 Commission alongside its partners working in food security, have launched a series of webinars entitled Food for Life, Food Justice, Food for All. The webinar on May 31, cohosted by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, and titled Food for All: Food conflicts and the future of food systems, will explore different responses to food conflicts, and how the Church can best contribute and collaborate to address hunger and food inequality around the world.
Food from the ocean, rivers and lakes - essential for our food systems
This Global Dialogue aims to address the concept that a healthy ocean means healthy people the ocean and other aquatic ecosystems are fragile but have the potential to be pillars of local food systems if those systems are transformed to be more sustainable, nature-positive and accessible. This Dialogue is being co-convened by Special Envoy of the UN Food Systems Summit, Dr. Agnes Kalibata, Special Envoy for the Ocean, Peter Thomson, FOA, UN Foundation, and Norway.
Civil Society Public Forum
During this Forum, representatives from each of the five Action Tracks and the Summit Dialogues will share progress of idea-generation, and next steps in the Summit process. The conversation will focus on the emerging with an invitation for participating in and building coalitions as a part of the Summit and post-Summit engagement. Producer Public Forums
The Producer Public Forums aim at updating producers across the globe of latest Summit progress; seeking inputs and recommendations on emerging solution areas from producers; and mobilizing their participation in the upcoming producer-focused dialogues. Participants will be invited to reflect on current progress and share their thoughts and feedback. Three forums will take place from May 5 to 7 to accommodate different time zones.
Global Youth Summit Dialogue - Good Food For All
Gathering youth voices from around the world, the Global Youth Summit Dialogue - Good Food For All invites a curated group of 100 youth for a discussion on the future of our food systems. Best Small Business: Good Food for All - Competition Launch
The UN Food Systems Summit competition Best Small Business: Good Food for All will identify the best small and medium-sized enterprises from across the world transforming food systems for a better tomorrow. Running from April 29 to June 4, the Summit will spotlight winners as the Best 50 Small Businesses: Good Food for All, as well as a share of US$100,000 in prize money.
Water: The Game Changer for Food Systems a Global Summit Dialogue

This side event at the 51勛圖 Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), supported by IFAD, FAO and WFP, brought stakeholders together to share examples on how Indigenous Peoples agency is supported and how it contributes to sustainable food systems; highlight Indigenous Peoples game-changing solutions identified within the UN Food Systems Summit; explore how the Summit outcomes can catalyze action on the ground and foster coalition building to support Indigenous Peoples and their knowledge systems.
