Rethinking the role of National Development Banks
The third Multi-stakeholder Consultation on “Rethinking the Role of National Development Banks in Africa” took place in the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) premises and was organized by the Financing for Development Office of UN-DESA, in collaboration with the IDC, the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA), the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) and the Southern African Development Community – Development Finance Resource Center (SADC-DFRC). More than 100 participants attended the event, including heads of national development banks and other development finance institutions, representatives from the African Development Bank (AfDB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Development Bank (EIB), as well as private commercial banks, academia and civil society.
