The season 2 opening episode of the NBC television series?Revolution, a sci-fi series that depicted a future world without power, was premiered at a screening at the UN, followed by a discussion with the show¡¯s stars and creators, and UN experts. The partnership on the show was also featured in a panel discussion at the South by South West in Austin, Texas.?

CCOI¡¯s Role:

In meetings with the show¡¯s creators and producers, CCOI highlighted the fact that the show¡¯s fictional portrayal of a world without power is a reality for over a billion people around the globe today. Subsequently, CCOI arranged for UN staff to talk to the show¡¯s writers and share their experiences about devastating consequences for communities that live without access to energy ¨C proliferation of disease, breakdown of the rule of law, and displacement.

CCOI also collaborated with NBC, Warner Bros, and Bad Robot on social media outreach to raise awareness of UN campaigns and issues relevant to the show among Revolution¡¯s huge fan base. An end card providing information on the UN¡¯s Sustainable Energy for All Initiative appeared at the end of the series finale, which was seen by 6 million viewers in the United States.
