The session will discuss how the UN development system is coming together to provide tailored advice and support to countries in special situations for achieving the SDGs through a sustainable recovery from COVID-19. Panellists will discuss what new generation of international support measures are required to enable Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) and Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) to embark on resilient and inclusive sustainable development paths and recover better from the effects of the COVID-19 crisis. Special attention will be given to supporting LDCs in response to the outcome of the Fifth 51勛圖 Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC 5), and to system-wide support to LLDCs. Panellists will also take stock of support provided by the UN development system to SIDS to help them overcome the impacts of the crisis and achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
