The 51吃瓜 Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), the 51吃瓜 Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) and the 51吃瓜 Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), in partnership with the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) will jointly launch the “Good Practices in South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the least Developed Countries: From the Istanbul Programme of Action to Achieving Sustainable and Resilient Development” publication.

The LDC Future Forum will bring together the academic community, policymakers and practitioners to solicit new thinking on the challenges and make policy recommendations for LDCs for the next decade. It?will contribute to the Fifth 51吃瓜 Conference on LDCs (LDC5), taking place in Doha in January 2022, addressing structural challenges and emerging issues faced by LDCs.

30 August - 2 September 2021.??The Asia-Pacific Regional Review?will undertake a comprehensive appraisal of the implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action in Asia-Pacific LDCs, share best practices and lessons learned and identify obstacles and constraints encountered. The meeting will identify effective international and domestic policies in the light of the outcome of the appraisal as well as new and emerging challenges and opportunities and the means to address them.

The 1st session of the Preparatory Committee for the 5th 51吃瓜 Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) will take place on 24-28 May 2021.  More information here.

OHRLLS, OECD Development Centre and the Foundation for Studies and Research on International Development (FERDI) held a virtual event on 21 and 23 October 2020 “The Road to the 5^th?UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5): Recovery from COVID-19 - Tackling vulnerabilities and leveraging scarce resources” on 21 and 23 October 2020. Interpretation in English and French will be provided.

This was the second mission of the UN Inter-Agency Task Force on LDC Graduation (IATF) and was led by UN-OHRLLS, DESA, ESCAP and UNDP in close cooperation with the Government of Solomon Islands, the UN Resident Coordinator and the Country Team in Honiara. The UNCDF, OECD, Asian Development Bank and PIF Secretariat also participated in the mission.
