As a member of the American Society of International Law (ASIL), the UN Legal Counsel, Mr. Miguel de Serpa Soares, delivered a keynote address at the inaugural event of the New York Chapter of the ASIL on 6 November 2023 at the Offices of Debevoise & Plimpton.聽 On this occasion, he congratulated Mr. Nawi Ukabiala, Senior Associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, and Mr. Bruce Rashkow, former Director of OLA鈥檚 General Legal Division, for being instrumental in bringing about the long overdue founding of the ASIL New York Chapter.聽 Mr. Serpa Soares said that he was looking forward to many more successful gatherings of the Chapter bringing together international law practitioners, both from public service to private practice, with academics and representatives of the NGO community and civil society.
