When celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2016, the team was astonished by the results - 5.8 million users a year!

And yet in 2020, that number jumped to 15.1 million, a record, but also a testimony to the team*s hard work and commitment.

A team that works across three duty stations - Nairobi, Bangkok, and New York - covering updates 24/7, posting hundreds of resources every day to ensure that humanitarian partners can get the latest updates on any ongoing crisis to inform their response.

2020 was also a pivotal year for ReliefWeb*s mobile phone usage, which increased to 52 per cent of the total site usage, while desktop access increased by almost 22 percent.

Similarly, the number of field-based users increased by 45 per cent, up to 4.1 million a year.

And with the users, the number of resources posted also grew drastically - 57,500 reports in 2020 alone, an increase of 16 per cent from 2019.

The number of users accessing the reports section alone neared 20 million, up a phenomenal 58.6 per cent, while for jobs the figure was almost 1.8 million.

In a?, ReliefWeb*s founders tell us about how the site has morphed over time, adapting to a constantly evolving humanitarian landscape, and their vision for the next 25 years.
