Join the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism for the fifth commemoration of the International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism on 21 August 2022. The event features a keynote address by UN Secretary-General Mr. Ant¨®nio Guterres and remarks from Under-Secretary-General of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, Mr. Vladimir Voronkov and the co-Chairs of the Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism (Iraq and Spain). It also features testimonies from victims of terrorism from across the globe showcasing personal objects that highlight the remembrance, recognition and resilience traits personified by each one of them. The International Day commemorates and upholds the dignity of victims and highlights the importance of global solidarity in ensuring that victims are not forgotten.
