UNIS-UN is a two-day student devised and led conference that is typically held in the General Assembly Hall at the UN Headquarters in New York City. However, due to the international pandemic, UNIS-UN will be held virtually this year?on Thursday, 24 and Friday, 25 March 2022.
This year¡¯s conference title will be Food for Thought: A Sustainable Approach to Food Security. Food is fundamental for human life and affects every individual. The hunger crisis has had a tremendous global impact and been exacerbated by climate change, inequality, and a growing population. Hundreds of millions of people go to bed undernourished and hungry every night. Without sustainable change, this crisis will only become worse. The 2022 UNIS-UN conference will investigate the possible approaches to a more sustainable future of food. We will investigate how economic inequality has intensified the issue, while also exploring modern technologies that present new opportunities to cultivate food. Furthermore, we will explore how education and policy play important roles in overall health.
The conference will feature keynote speakers: Seth Goldman, Abby Maxman, and Mary-Ellen McGroarty.
Open sessions will be streamed live on??as shown below:?
Thursday, 24 March:?9:00 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.
Friday, 25 March:?8:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
